The Stelmor System provides controlled air-cooling of steel to produce wire rod in coils with uniform mechanical properties. Temperature monitoring ensures the consistency of this treatment, which delivers the same product quality.
Stelmor cooling is provided by a forced air system. This controls the strength and ductility of wire rods, but requires a fast-response measurement.
The forced air cooling sections are individually controlled to produce the same cooling regardless of the varying density of rod across the width of the cooling table. Usually three
SPOT+ R100 Pyrometers are used for this purpose.
