To enable strips to be fed continuously through the annealing line, the trailing edge of one coil is welded to the leading edge of the next. Weld quality is critical for a strong weld that will not fail.

Accurate temperature monitoring makes certain that the weld temperatures are within the correct limits, to ensure a secure weld. This significantly reduces the risk of the weld breaking further along the annealing line.
