Annealing Lehr Entry and Exit

Annealing Lehr (Flat)
Temperature monitoring is required at the annealing lehr to ensure sufficient heating of the glass. Incorrect heating and cooling can weaken the glass, introducing weak points that may not be noticed until after the product has been transported. Thermal imaging can detect any substandard product as it leaves the lehr.

Glass products must be heated sufficiently to prevent cracking or build-up of stress in the glass. Defects in the finished product may only become evident as it leaves the annealing lehr, so continuous monitoring is required to compare product quality before and after the lehr stage.

Thermal imaging provides an accurate view of the glass product as it enters and leaves the lehr, allowing a comparison of properties and early detection of any substandard product. This allows optimisation of the lehr and monitors product quality.
