The Yankee dryer is a large heated, fast rotating heated drum used to produce tissue paper. The paper is dried and creped to achieve the desired finished product. Accurate temperature monitoring of the drum surface over its entire width allows for uniform temperature control.
Typically, the paper goes from about 45% dryness to 90% dryness at this stage. If the drying is not uniform across the cylinder, the quality of the paper product will be adversely affected. To support quality control, temperature measurements need to detect heat unwanted hot or cold bands across the process.
By rapidly scanning across the Yankee dryer cylinder, the
LSP-HD 7 can sense bands that deviate from the required temperature setpoint.
