Drying

Non-woven fabrics are dried through a variety of methods, including air-drying and microwaving. A certain heat level is required to remove moisture, but overheating can damage the product.  Accurate temperature monitoring helps control drying efficiency without adverse effects to the fabric.

Thorough drying is essential to the manufacture of non-woven fabrics. An insufficiently dried product will not meet the quality standards expected from most processes, so must be detected and discarded at an early stage.

By measuring across the process, the linescanner detects any hot or cold spots that may indicate uneven drying. This supports quality control of the fabric and enables substandard product to be detected quickly. It also helps control the drying process more closely by providing real-time feedback on temperature levels.
