Critical Piping

Piping systems transport liquids and gases around the refinery or plant. With many different ambient temperatures around the facility, it is important to monitor the heat of critical piping, for safety purposes and for quality and process control. Critical piping is designed to withstand high temperatures.

Critical piping systems can be difficult to reach to take measurements, and spot readings will only provide monitoring of conditions at that single point. A non-contact solution requires a wide field of view across an extensive range of temperatures, and may need to operate in harsh conditions.

The real-time thermal data provided by the LWIR-640 allows plant operators to detect any piping problems remotely. This may include damage to the piping, which could cause downtime or unsafe conditions. It can also help ensure process materials are kept at the correct temperature levels as they are transported.
