Flare Stack

A flare stack burns off unwanted flammable gases, preventing them being released into the atmosphere, and acts as a pressure release for hydrocarbon processing plants. Continuous monitoring is crucial to ensure proper combustion has taken place, but the flame does not always burn with a visible flare, making visual checks unreliable.

The flare’s unique heat signature can be easily detected by infrared thermal imaging cameras, even when it is not visible. These cameras are more reliable than traditional monitoring methods, and can be remotely mounted in a more accessible location.

Flare stack monitoring  can be installed to monitor the flame from any distance with outstanding clarity. This enables reliable, standalone operation, ensuring the flame is continuously monitored to ensure correct combustion at all times.

  APPLICATION NOTE
Flare Stack Monitoring Application Note (EN)ADVANTAGES OF THERMAL IMAGING FOR EFFECTIVE FLARE STACK MONITORING
Flare stacks are widely used in industries especially chemical, petrochemical and steel to safely dispose of excess gasses through combustion. These may be unwanted waste gases, or flammable gases released to prevent unplanned over-pressurising of  plant equipment. Read More > Watch the Video >
