Gasifier

The gasifier is where the biomass is reacted with limited amounts of oxygen or steam at high-temperatures and elevated pressures to produce hydrogen, methane and carbon dioxide, known as Syngas. Maintaining optimum temperature during the reaction is critical to ensuring higher yields of Syngas and the productivity of the entire process.

Accurate monitoring of the temperature throughout the gasifier helps control the process to provide complete conversion of the biomass. It also helps prevent overheating, which wastes energy and makes the process more expensive.

The accurate, live reporting from the LWIR-640 supports efficient heating of the gasifier, reducing energy costs and optimising the conversion of the biomass to the components of syngas.
