Electrode Sheet Manufacture

Cathode and anode slurries are coated onto metal foil substrates, dried, and then calendared to form thin electrode sheets.

It is important to monitor the temperature of the electrode sheets as they are formed, as small variations will have a big impact on quality.  Measuring the temperature accurately is tricky due to aluminium and copper reflecting infrared energy instead of absorbing it, so measuring solutions need to be able to calculate material emissivity to give an accurate temperature reading.

If imperfections in the electrode sheet can be found at this early stage, costly wastage can be significantly reduced.

The highly accurate temperature measurment solutions that AMETEK Land offer, support the product quality through this production step.
