Stack Emissions

Lime production can produce significant emissions of particulates. Lime dust is corrosive, and a variety of methods are used to trap this. Continuous monitoring ensures that this dust and other pollutants are kept within regulatory limits. The high-dust environment and corrosive conditions of the lime kiln make this monitoring difficult.

The combustion operation at the lime kiln stack is where the majority of lime particulate emissions originate, so this is where monitoring is required. Reliable measurement depends upon instruments that can operate in hot, dusty conditions.

By continuously monitoring particulate emissions, lime plant operators can ensure their operation is compliant with control regulations. This helps avoid the prospect of fines, and improves process efficiency, which lowers costs.
