Forging of metal semi-finished products has been an important manufacturing method for hundreds of years. During forging processes, steel slabs or billets are converted into semi-finished rolls; steel or non-ferrous metal bolts dropforged to make parts for the automotive industry, functional parts or fittings. The required throughput and price pressure on manufacturers is steadily increasing, but so are quality requirements for the processed materials and manufactured components.
