The ADT is an Aluminium Die Thermometer designed specifically for measuring pre-heated dies as they are moved from the die oven to installation in the aluminium extrusion press.
Utilising AMETEK Land’s highly accurate, non-contact measurement, adapted specifically to the unique process conditions of die monitoring, ADT prevents any process stoppage caused by loading an under temperature die – avoiding costly downtime and increasing product yields.
Consisting of a highly accurate, non-contact radiation thermometer coupled to a Landmark Graphic signal processor, ADT’s fibre optic lightguide enables the sensor and electronics to be located away from hostile measurement locations.
And with a range of mountings and accessories making installation simple, ADT is highly adaptable to the individual application needs of
aluminium manufacturers.
HIGH-PRECISION RESULTS
Die temperature is vital to the extrusion process – thermometer results are within 5 °C (9 °F), and an emissivity input ensures high accuracy is maintained. A response time of 5ms allows for rapid action if the die cools too much.
TOUGH IN HOSTILE ENVIRONMENTS
The measurement point for this process is often located in harsh conditions: A 3.5m (11.4ft) fibre optic lightguide keeps the electronics at a safe distance, while a full range of mountings and accessories help with installation in hostile surroundings.
LOW MAINTENANCE, HIGH PERFORMANCE
By using our high-quality non-contact, infrared measurements, the ADT provides low-maintenance, single-spot monitoring of the die temperature without interfering with the extrusion process.
AMETEK Land’s ADT preheat thermometer is dedicated to the task of monitoring die temperature in aluminium extrusion.
