At LAND®, we believe being part of the local community means more than just operating here, it means showing up, getting involved and giving back.
This year, we’ve had the privilege of working with some fantastic organisations and schools across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, and we’re not done yet.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from our community and outreach work so far in 2025.
AMETEK Business Challenge
We kicked off the year by partnering with
The Workwise Foundation to host the AMETEK Business Challenge at the
Magna Science Adventure Centre. Students from seven local schools joined us to explore the importance of employee wellbeing and design their own visions for a wellbeing centre at our Dronfield headquarters.
Their creativity and insight blew us away; it was a day full of fresh ideas and thoughtful conversations.
Get Up to Speed
In spring, our team headed back to Magna for
Get Up to Speed, an event that brings together students, employers and educators to celebrate careers in engineering.
We announced the winners of the AMETEK Business Challenge, showcased our thermal imaging technology and chatted with hundreds of curious young minds. Their enthusiasm reminded us why it’s so important to keep inspiring the next generation.
Student Visits to the LAND Headquarters

Throughout the summer and autumn, we welcomed students to our Dronfield headquarters as part of the
Workwise Summer Academy and
National Manufacturing Day.
These behind-the-scenes tours gave young people a closer look at how infrared technology powers industries around the world. From design to delivery, our team shared how precision and passion come together to solve real-world challenges.
It’s always a highlight for us to see students connect with the work we do and maybe spark future careers in STEM.
Business Fives Football Tournament
In August, we swapped infrared technology for football boots and took part in the
Business Fives football tournament in Sheffield.
It was a great day of friendly competition, but more importantly, we raised money for
Chesterfield Foodbank.
Supporting local families is something we care deeply about, and we’re proud to have played our part.
What’s Still to Come?
We’re not finished yet. This November, we’ll be sponsoring the
North Star Science School at Gulliver’s Valley, a brilliant initiative founded by Professor Brian Cox and Lord Andrew Mawson. It’s all about inspiring young people to explore science, engineering and innovation, and we’re thrilled to be involved.
And as Christmas approaches, we’re once again supporting
Mission Christmas (Cash for Kids). We’re proud to be Dronfield’s drop-off point for unwrapped gifts, helping make the festive season a little brighter for children who might otherwise go without.
If you wish to get involved and help local children this Christmas, feel free to drop off unwrapped gifts at our Dronfield HQ later this year.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far this year. We’re even prouder of the students, teachers, colleagues and community members who’ve joined us along the way. Here’s to continuing the journey together.
