Upcoming E360 Webinar

Register for our new webinar on 14th December 2021, 9AM EST (6AM PST / 3PM CET) to learn about new technologies, smart and intelligent functions and the latest interfaces being implemented into actual Industry 4.0 communications within heavy industries

While global digitalization is progressing, non-contact temperature measurement equipment, like pyrometers, line scanners and thermal imagers, used in heavy industry applications often still provide the temperature data via analog connections (0/4 … 20 mA / 0 … 10 V) to the plant and process control systems or data logging systems.

Most modern equipment is now fully digital and provides multiple digital bidirectional interfacing. For example, thermal imagers can deliver a data stream, up to 3 million measurement values per detector pixel, via digital interfaces and protocols like industrial gigabit Ethernet.

Innovative smart functionalities, included in the latest pyrometers or imagers, enable pre-autonomous data processing with the process control and data logging systems. The AMETEK Land SPOT application pyrometer series and new thermal imaging range, including the recently released LWIR-640 long-wavelength smart thermal imager, enable digital transformation and integration in the Industry 4.0 environment.

The webinar describes the differences between existing analog equipment and new digital technologies, including smart and intelligent functionalities and interfaces for industrial non-contact temperature measurement. It explains the existing and future interfacing and data communication opportunities available and associated benefits and introduces new smart industrial thermal imagers, scanners and pyrometers, their advantages and application examples.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand the differences between analog and new smart and digital industrial non-contact temperature measurement technologies.
  • Learn about the new smart and intelligent functionalities and interfaces of these technologies.
  • Find out about the opportunities and benefits of existing and future interfacing and data communications.
  • Discover the benefits and applications of the new AMETEK Land thermal imaging range.
